Last week we introduced Elf Prince Kort Elias who is diligently searching for a stolen royal dragon egg in the first story of The Kingdom of Chalvaren Romances, Dragonstone. Here’s that last line: “Where’d you go, little one?”
Kort’s grimace became a frown. Poor thing – all alone in a strange world with no other dragons to coach him, to show him what to eat, how to fly, how to roar, how to be what he was.
“Damn you, Elissabet!” He shook his fist at the sky. “Look at what you’ve conjured up with your ridiculous legend, mother.” No treasure, just a lost little dragon.
“At least he’s eaten.” Kort’s eyes ranged to the remains of the mercenary.
Without proper handling, without a first feast available right outside his eggshell, the hatchling had devoured his abductor. Served the bastard right.
Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday
Hi Weekend Writing Warriors! Happy almost Halloween.
Every weekend a wonderful blog hop happens where writers, known as the Weekend Writing Warriors share their stories. Click the box below to visit the other bloggers. Leave a comment. We thrive on comments. 🙂
And, if you’re lucky enough to join the awesome writers over at the Facebook Snippet Sunday group, then you’re lucky enough.
So, Warriors, what works here for you? I simply adore dragons. The problem is, though, if you don’t know what you’re doing with them, they often bite.
