What I’m up to this month.
I’ve been in my writing cave. The past month has been rich with writing for me thanks to Camp NaNoWriMo 2018 and my cabin mates. I get so many words down when I’m accountable to my friends. The way it works is simple. We organize a cabin at our imaginary camp, we declare our project, and we work on it for a month.
Writer’s Life.
We check in with each other, and declare our word counts, which is great. Nothing like a little friendly competition to keep me on-task. Cooler still is the camaraderie we inspire in each other (thanks Ed and CJ!). Knowing other writers face the same issues I do in my daily life keeps me motivated to get to the end of the story.
Confession Time.
I cheated this year though. Edits are forbidden at Camp. The point of Camp is to write a first draft, not to stop and edit along the way. But I did. Sort-of. No, not edits on my work in progress, mind you. I went through two rounds of revision edits on my upcoming release with ImaJinnBooks. Yep. I went through both line edits, and copy edits for Hunters’ Watch Brigade: The Game.
I’m pretty excited about this novel, you guys. Fans of the series (the Watchers) have asked for more Sam and Max, so release date is planned for June 2018. I’m expecting page proofs any day now, and then, yes, the book cover. I can’t wait to see what we come up with this time.
We’ll share the cover with you as soon as it’s available.
For now, I’m headed back into my writing cave. Book #3 is calling, and I’ve got to go get Shade and Sam and Max out of some serious supernatural hot water.
Have you read Hunters’ Watch Brigade: Initiation yet? It’s the introduction point into this urban fantasy/paranormal romance world I’ve created. If not, get your copy today and start reading now.
You’re welcome, Paula. And thanks right back at you!
